Looks like the University of South Florida (currently DII Gulf Coast Conference) is going to be moving to FCS and joining the UAC for football.
Probably the other sports in the ASUN.

Didn't really see much about it, due to mid-major conference and non-football schools mostly, but it was announced the other day that the WCC (previously 100% private schools out west) will be adding UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara in 2027. They will be the first public schools in the conference since 1979. Also previously mentioned a while back, Denver is leaving the Summit League to join the WCC this summer. With Gonzaga leaving the conference for the PAC-12 this summer, the 2027 lineup for the conference will be: Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Pepperdine, U of Portland, Saint Mary's College, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Clara University, Seattle, Denver, UC San Diego, and UC Santa Barbara.
UCSD and UCSB are currently in the Big West (previously 100% public schools out west), but with both of them leaving for the WCC and both UC Davis and Hawai'i leaving for the Mountain West, and the Big West adding Cal Baptist, Cal State Sacramento, and Utah Valley in 2026, the lineup with that conference looks like this as of summer 2027: Cal Baptist, Cal Poly, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long Beach (Long Beach State), Cal State Northridge, Cal State Sacramento, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, and Utah Valley.

I'm sure the money is probably better in the WCC, but Denver wasn't really competitive in the Summit (basketball wise) so interesting to see how they do in the WCC. Also a side note regarding Denver, former WIU WBB basketball player Doisha Woods was let go as their head basketball coach this past season. I also noticed with her she still cheers on WIU women's basketball, she was commenting a lot on Twitter about their recent run.ST_Lawson wrote: Tue Apr 14, 2026 9:26 am Didn't really see much about it, due to mid-major conference and non-football schools mostly, but it was announced the other day that the WCC (previously 100% private schools out west) will be adding UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara in 2027.
