Beer and Wine are served at the Concession Stand in the lobby. They also have a few food options. Sodexo operates the Concession Stand.
Sangamon Auditorium at UIS has a seating capacity of 1,735.
The Studio Theatre at UIS seats 124 -- additional seating can be added depending on configuration.
Yeah, I didn't think it would be fair to mention the Sangamon Auditorium, because it's in a larger city. Half of the student population at UIS could fit in there. I believe it's the largest theater in Springfield, so it serves a population more like the Peoria Civic Center rather than a university's theater.
EDIT - Also for reference, some of the non-university theaters in our vicinity:
Quincy's Washington Theatre - 1500 (but I can't tell if it's actually being used currently or is undergoing remodeling)
Galesburg's Orpheum Theater - 920
Carthage's Legacy Theater - 525
Quincy's Oakley Lindsay Center (Barbara Rowell) Auditorium - 500
Burlington's Capitol Theater - 367
There's also the Morrison Theatre at Quincy Junior HS that holds 2,000 (was built when that building was the HS), but idk if we want to get into counting venues at the various non-higher-ed schools.
So, the closest comparison size-wise would be the Galesburg Orpheum (51 more seats than our Goldfarb Center), and it feels like Carthage's Legacy Theater "punches above it's weight class" in terms of what they bring in, so hopefully we can also start bringing in some of the types of acts that you see at those venues.
