The 2015 college football season kicked off this afternoon with NDSU at Montana. The Bison had the lead for most of the game, but the Grizzlies came back and won on a last second (3 seconds, actually) TD run to put them ahead. Montana won 38-35. http://espn.go.com/college-football/box ... =400795501

The next conference game is ours against Eastern IL on Thursday night.

Then on Saturday, we have a slate of mostly FCS vs FBS matchups: Illinois State at Iowa, South Dakota State at Kansas, Youngstown State at Pittsburgh, Butler at Indiana State, Southern Illinois at Indiana, Missouri State at Memphis, South Dakota at Kansas State, and Northern Iowa at Iowa State.

And tonight, the NDSU OC will lose a wink or two of sleep for less than stellar clock management near end of game.
Embrace the pace of the race.

Attendance at Montana was a record crowd of 26,472.

There was noticeable smoke in the air from the wildfires.

The Kansas 41-38 home loss to South Dakota State is their 2nd loss to a FCS team since 2010. Kansas lost 6-3 to North Dakota State in 2010.

Kansas is the third "Power 5" school to lose to an FCS team twice since 2010. The others are Iowa State and Oregon State.

Kansas actually has fewer scholarship players than South Dakota State. FBS teams can give out 85 scholarships, while FCS teams can only give out 63. Kansas has 62 scholarship players.

Attendance at Kansas was 30,144.

Southern Illinois came up one point short of a major upset on Saturday afternoon, falling at Indiana, 48-47. The game wasn’t decided until the final 20 seconds, when SIU’s two-point conversion to win the game was unsuccessful.

Southern’s offense set program records vs. FBS opponents with 47 points and 659 total yards. SIU’s total offense yardage was the third most in program history and most against a Division I opponent since 1970.

Attendance at Indiana was 36,071.
