I really like these "mystery games" which really will work to WIU's advantage. Just gotta laugh when the Necks win and the next thing out of everyone's mouth is, "well EIU is not that good I guess" or "EIU did more to lose the game than WIU did to win it!" Let's face it, most people expected EIU to romp over the Necks except for a few "loyal" and "cup half full" fans! And then there is Kent State. I have no idea what they are all about and applying the above logic, "either KSU is that bad or maybe, just maybe Illinois may be that good!" Of course I have not seen any comments about KSU giving the game away. And so the "mystery" unfolds!

I do know this. WIU was the better conditioned team on Thursday. I don't remember anyone going down with cramps in a game where EIU players were going down "right and left!" WIU's defense got better with each snap. The Neck's youth will truly be tested on Saturday but I think they will come out of the fray just fine. I hope TN forces the ball less and takes the yards he is given on the run or on the short pass. The middle sure seemed to be a place where LL and other WR can catch and run. You know Joey will have a catch or two long distant style. Would love to see some wide running plays too. O line is definitely bigger and stronger this year, and will only get better. This is the perfect "mystery" setup. I could not have designed it any better. The majority of the Illini board members are churping about a "blow out" of course. One Illini fan who graduated from EIU basically said that WIU's take aways were really EIU give aways. I guess this means he can't figure out how the final game score turned out. Here's hoping the same will be said after Saturday's game. ;) jc
