Stunning.

I really hope there is a big write up in the Courier and a big promotion for the upcoming home game. I don't even know what would be considered the best win before this game.

Hey NFS71 you seem to be enthusiastic about the new Western Hall seating configuration. Do you have any links you can share that show any renderings?

Might be the biggest win over a big time program, but not best win ever. The 1939-40 team beat Oregon. The Ducks were the defending NCAA Tournament champions. The win over Oral Roberts in Summit League tournament in 2012 was, in my opinion, biggest win of D1 era. Also very big wins during the 1950's when the teams were contending for NAIA national championships on a yearly basis.

Beau, I will never ever forget the 1981/82 season, December to be more specific. Not only was my older daughter born premature on December 5th, but the men's team beat Northern Illinois on Saturday and then went on to beat Illinois State on Monday! It was a helluva away to start the season as well as a life ala daughter #1. I sat in front of the TV last night, my wife was way too nervous and sat at the kitchen island on her computer and kept asking, "whats happening? How much time? What's the score? I can't watch this!" Finally, when it was over, she screamed "yes, yes, yes!" Today I also sat in front of the TV for WIU vs. Indst. My wife went shopping and when she returned we basically repeated the same "tension scenario!" Love and the Leathernecks is what our life of 43 years together has been all about. ;) jc

Well, no pictures yet. But I can tell you that the north balcony has been pulled out for ever because there is no way to collapse them without killing or injuring someone from facilities. The plan is to round off both basket ends to resemble in my opinion Welsh Ryan Arena. The two areas between the trophy cases in the north end hallway will be opened up to give fans access to the main floor seats. Areas for tickets and concessions will also be moved to allow better access. The bid process is underway. I know it is not an arena, but the new seat configuration will give it more of an "arena feel!" Heck RedNeck, we constantly hear people complaining about the Hall but there are a number of D1 schools that play in worst facilities which are definitely like plain old gymnasiums. If last nights game is an indication of the future, this seating arrangement will definitely give WIU a home-court advantage!! ;) jc

If I remember correctly, there used to be two access points into the north stands from the lobby.

Back in those days (60's and 70's), the center section of seats on the north side of the main floor (where Section D is today) were padded benches with padded backs. There was access to the lobby from either end of those padded bleachers.

With the main parking lot located to the east (Q-Lot), it would be ideal to improve the entry point located in "East Arena". Right now, there is just a single door that opens up into essentially a storage area.
