So, now that the regular season is done...how did the preseason rankings compare to the final standings?

NDSU & ISUr had identical records (7-1) and did not play each other, so no tiebreaker there. For MVFC standings (and determining auto-bid), they then go to next-highest-ranked common opponent, which would be SDSU. NDSU beat SDSU, SDSU beat ISUr...so NDSU is above ISUr.

SDSU, UNI, and Western also have identical records (5-3), but since we all played each other, it worked out that we can tell how things rank. We beat UNI and SDSU, so we're top out of that group. UNI beat SDSU, so they're next, and then SDSU at the bottom of the 5-3 group.

ISUb, USD, and YSU all have identical records (3-5), but is a bit trickier since ISUb didn't play USD. ISUb and USD did play YSU, with ISUb beating YSU and YSU beating USD. So, I think that this means that it'd go ISUb, YSU, then USD (not 100% sure on that though).

SIU was the only 2-6 team.

MSU was outright horrible...0-8...1-10 overall. Their only win was against Div. II Chadron State (who finished their season at 5-6), and it was only by 8 points.

So, fairly close in many cases. Western was the big "surprise" finishing 5 spots higher than expected, with Youngstown State being the biggest "disappointment" finishing 3 spots down from where they were predicted to finish.
