As always, a picture is worth a thousand words. I heard that there will be a permanent media platform attached to the back of the scoreboard along with the stairs necessary to reach that level. Things are definitely happening in "Leatherneck" country.

I also wish there were better pics of the union construction available. It must be in the final stages of construction. There was a pic on twitter of the railing going in around the patio area.

While on the subject of pictures, have the "subjects" of the inaugural "Kiss Me Cam" shot been selected yet? Can't just leave this to chance - have to do it right and have a contest or something to generate a little interest. Mr and Mrs NFS71 should be in the running. Of course, Pres and Mrs. Thomas along with Tommy and his wife. There are big promotional opportunities here so play it for all its worth. On the other hand, we could just go with the "whoever writes out the biggest check" strategy. That always works too.

These are not photos, but these drawings do show how things will look.

The windows have been enlarged which makes the room brighter.

Long-time Western fans will remember that the Murray Street Café used to be called "The Tract".

Yep, and the sound of "Sweet Home Alabama" from there is still ringing in my ears to this day.

Or the "Dramatics" and "What you see is what you get!" (Some people are made of plastic, you know some people are made of wood, some people have hearts of stone, some people are up to no good!) I think the tract reference was to the military tracts that the government gave to civil war veterans for their service in the "great war!" My family had a large farm in Fairbury just for that reason.

Just thinking about the "Tract" reminds me of sitting with a group of fraternity brothers at a round table watching the girls go by. I met a young lady from Peoria that was at the Sigma Kappa table one morning and asked her to go with me to the first football game, played that Saturday night against Northeast Missouri State! That was 40 years ago and we just celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary yesterday!

712, there are also "in process pics" available at the "union" page. These though have not been updated for quite sometime. Ashley K., union asst. director said a couple of weeks ago that the furniture had been ordered and things were going very well.

Anyone going to be on campus in near future that can take some pictures of the progress going on with this? Would be awesome to see someone upload a video to youtube when they test it you know they are going to give it a full trial. It is to bad they are not hanging a complete new sound system from the lights to go with the video board. I expect to see that in near future.

I'll try to get some shots of the Union next time I'm in that area.

As for the scoreboard...currently the old one is sitting on the ground next to the three support beams that are sticking out of the ground. That's about it.

Looks like they have the crane on site and are starting to put up the new board. Beams were painted black which looks nice. If anyone can upload it there is a picture on the athletics facebook right now.
