Bradley is 3-24 on the season, so that is a winnable game for them tonight. Then with UTM being only a game ahead of them in standings those should be some winnable games. Both the baseball and softball teams seem to have decent offenses but both pitching staffs seem to be lacking.

Pitching will generally always be lacking at most mid-major conferences. The biggest issue I have seen is that recruiting seems to come down to analytics, and what is your velocity and spin rate. However, the fact that a player can't throw strikes, stay ahead in counts, and thus becomes completely predictable from a pitch selection perspective gets overlooked. Greg Maddux, HOF Pitcher, threw low 80's and was dominant in MLB. Obviously the portal today now changes everything, but I suspect their are some hidden pitching gems that go never really noticed even though their command is dominant. Pitching is always a godsend, but when you can't get it, find someone that throws strikes and makes the other team flat out earn wins by hitting. It's the lack of getting ahead in counts and being in fastball only situations that makes me go a bit mad watching this squad. I appreciate the coach and his ability to embrace the community, but the pitching selections seem to be the cog in getting a few wins here and there.

Only 11.7 scholies for the whole squad and probably no one getting more than a half-ride.  The best pitchers will be chasing the best NIL dollars.
BTW, what NCAA knucklehead thought a .7 scholarship was a good thing?  lol

It will like pass and change to 35 scholarship....but there are those funds available, and any additional scholarship would nee Title 9 matching as well. It's actually ruining freshman baseball across the board. Coaches are going after transfer portal kids and revoking freshman openings to make room. Roster size also being cut from 42-35 max.
