I'm assuming Coach B is probably not going to be around much longer.

Yeah Idk…I would be very surprised if Boudreau is going anywhere, at least this year.  I kinda felt like something was going on when the players that Clancy recruited/coached, transferred out.  Thought that was a sign then.  I remember in a postgame interview with Coach Boudy and how he made the comment that he wasn’t involved in the recruiting process as much as he should’ve been and would be going forward, to make sure they recruited “his” type of players.  Hard to say if any of the other coaches took that personally or not.  I’ve seen Boudreau’s name mentioned by the recent recruits,  including the one today that mentioned Boudreau, Hill, and Glover.  My main concern is that we dont lose Kvamme!  I believe Clancy was heavily involved in his recruitment.

I wasn't too concerned about his players transferring since that is just the way of college basketball now, but I guess it does make sense. That is an interesting comment he made, maybe their was some friction. i also thought maybe those assistants were just ready to move on and make a little bit better money than what they were getting at WIU. Going to be an interesting summer at least 3 assistant spots to fill and multiple players still needed to fill out the roster.

Yep..interesting summer.  Maybe interesting few weeks.  Hopefully a few coaches and players announced soon!

It always amazes me the lack of turnover for the girls. JD seems to find away to get people to stay. Part of me wonders if it’s how he recruits almost the entire roster is from 3 hrs away close enough for family to come but far enough to not be right at home. The only one of these that’s a big surprise for me is Kyle. Ball St is in a better league so probably getting better pay though there normally in an about the same place in the standings as us. Kameron has been around for ever I think he was here under Billy but Bradley is in a much better league and are normally towards the top. So though he’s taking a step back In roles the pay is probably better for a team that’s always towards the top of their league. Kyle is confusing took a lesser role at a school in a little bit better league but isn’t ever competing towards the top. Kyle was Chad buddy that he brought with him maybe they had just worked together for so long it was time for a change. The one thing that did stick out is none of them thanked Chad or Western for the opportunity.

Looks like in fiscal year 2024, we paid Kyle $42.5k for 10 months (equivalent of $51k for a full year).
According to this (https://hoopdirt.com/job/assistant-mens ... of-denver/) Denver's salary range for an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach position in 2023 was $80k-$110k, and it's probably gone up a little since then. I'd guess he's probably getting at least double there what he did here for essentially the same position (and much fewer financial issues...Denver is a private school with quite a bit of money).

I wonder if there is any real statistical correlation between the number of associates/assistants on staff and success (i.e. wins) on the court.  My gut says none.  IMHO, a staff of 3 (excluding grad assistants and student managers) is a good fit for a mid-major like Western.  So cutting the staff means (or at least I think it means) instant raise for those remaining on board.  But I can  certainly see just about anyone simply moving on given the opportunity to double salary for the same position in life.
