Well that was a big run in our favor. I went upstairs to help put the kids to bed and we're down by 2. I come downstairs and we're up by 11. Maybe I should head upstairs again ;)

EDIT:
Halftime now, Western up by 15, 39-24.

Poor officiating IMO. Let them play ball!

That's a final...Western wins it 84-57 over UIC.
We're now 3-0 on the season. Next up is Eastern on Saturday.

Thats one down and one more to go til i am fully convinced they are this surprisingly good team. They are definitely firing on all cylinders right now and seem to be really working the ball around. Keep it up boys!

Just checked, and as far as I can tell, this is the first time we've started a season 3-0 in the Div. I era. We've gone 2-1 in the first 3 before, but never 3-0. We probably did at some point back in the Div. II days when we were one of the better teams in that classification at times, but never in the Div. I era (since 1981).

Im really starting to believe that this is a VERY LEGIT basketball team that could make some noise! Im very impressed by the way they have come out and played with toughness, attitude, and really good composure... some great coaching moves, which I was very skeptical of last year, but have been reassured of already this year....All I can say now is.... that Coach Wright and the team need WAYYYY more home support. I really think they are that good and deserve it! If I had the money I would fly from Virginia to Illinois EVERY home game...BUT...Im not a millionaire and dont own a plane lol...Anyway great win...darn good team and coach...PLEASE support them locally by going to the games..

This has happened the last 2 years. The NCAA comes out with rule modifications and points of emphasis, however, the only conference officials that seem to call the fouls are from the smaller mid major conferences. None of these hand checks were called against UW, but tonights game was equally physical and seemed to have way more fouls called. Once conference play begins it seems the officials let the player play once again. At least I hope these ticky tack fouls dont get called all season.
