The salary range and job descriptions for Civil Service workers is determined by the state, but the "work location" can adjust within that. However, for COAP and faculty, there are no state guidelines for requirements, job descriptions, or salaries.ST_Lawson wrote: Sat Feb 17, 2018 2:42 pm On my W-2, the employer is listed as "State of IL, Western IL University".
I consider myself an employee of the State of Illinois, working at Western Illinois University.
Also, my salary is determined by the State Universities Civil Service System...not WIU.

I think this is a really nice step in the right direction! Good press is a "powerful" communication skill. Is it a coincidence that there is once again a teacher shortage too. "Keep the ball rolling" university admissions!!!

Have the official spring numbers even been released? They don't show in the IRP website. Do the numbers above include Macomb extension? If so, Spring 2017 total was 7283 on campus and 872 extension, or 8155. That's an 883 student decrease, or 12.14%.wiu712 wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:39 am Western President Jack Thomas: ‘We must deal with reality, and play the hand we’ve been dealt.’

Undergrad comparison undergrad comparison would be 6322 + 528 = 6850, a 558 or 8.8% loss. Grad comparison would be 961 + 344 = 1305, a 325 or 33.2% loss.
Any idea on the QC numbers?
The Extension number for Fall 2017 is 1,275 for both the Macomb and Q.C. campuses combined.Tere North wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:51 amDo the numbers above include Macomb extension?

But only positive comments are allowed, as per Dr. Goldfarb. His entire focus in on making is sound good, rather than the "face the reality" and "deal with the hand we are dealt" that headlined his speech. He DOES NOT want to hear about any problem, only positive suggestions. Yet, how can you make it better if you don't admit what the problem is in the first place.Neckfansince71 wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2018 12:57 pm Thanks for fleshing out the numbers. The IRP page lists QC extension separate from MC extension http://www.wiu.edu/IRP/enrollments/headcounts.php. You have to know if the comparison of MC numbers includes those or not. Someone is getting credit for that in our "leaked" overall enrollment. It would would be nice if they actually would post the numbers even if they refuse to post a negative press release.wiu712 wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2018 12:19 pmThe Extension number for Fall 2017 is 1,275 for both the Macomb and Q.C. campuses combined.Tere North wrote: Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:51 amDo the numbers above include Macomb extension?
