I assume when coaches review these player highlight videos, they are taking into account whether a game involved a "cupcake" team. If not, their bad.

Just learned another fact about recruiting today. There is a maximum number of official visits that are allowed. For football, that number is 56 for both FCS and FBS. Logically, one would think that the allowed visits would be more than scholarships because you won't get all of those that visit. Go figure. I guess someone never got the memo.

Oops, my bad. Brain fog early in morning. That is 56 official visits per year vs. 63/85 schollies across 4 years. Now it makes sense.
Embrace the pace of the race.

Right, and 25 actual signees with scholarships allowed per year (with likely exceptions given for odd situations..new team just starting, for example).
So, you can look at any number of players, only 56 a year can come visit your campus (probably a limit so that the you don't have the schools with the most money flying out everyone...Alabama flying out every 4 or 5 star athlete in the country to their campus), and only 25 can be officially signed (although as mentioned before, schools can kinda get around this somewhat by doing a greyshirt).

So we lose a few former commits...I can guarantee it won't happen next year!!! Plus this will allow the new staff to offer the kids they really want to offer. Just frees up another scholarship is all. It's better thatbthis staff bring in their own players anyway!

If they don't want to be here, WE DON'T WANT THEM! Everybody can't be a Leatherneck - you have to be special!!

A quick review of the conference standings the last few years proves that a lot of losers have showed up at SD since they joined the conference!!

It will all be good on Wednesday!!

I think that's why we're all anxiously awaiting Wednesday. I'm sure they had their own ideas as to who to try and keep, and who to let leave for USD.

Wonder how the visits this weekend are going.

At least the weather is cooperating, it's a beautiful weekend here (for January)...it's sunny and almost 50 degrees.

True that, Scott. I'm ready for spring anyway.
