9/13 WIU Vs Drake
Kipp, if you can get me the file, I'll get it online and posted.
Not sure what would work best for you, just let me know.

In a perfect world, it would be on GoLeathernecks.com (Sidearm). Seems like we have a "left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing" problem but "any port in a storm" will be OK for now.ST_Lawson wrote:Kipp, if you can get me the file, I'll get it online and posted.

I did a fb share for the event. Hopefully a few of my western illinois area fb friends will notice the Rick Springfield teaser and show up.
I see Mr. Springfield is going to be performing at WVU next week. The mountaineer folks will be forking over from $40 - $85 to see him. We need to extend our thanks to the WIU UUB for making this a free event.
I also see on his website that he thinks he is playing at "McComb" this week. Life is funny that way. Reminds me of a situation that happened many years ago when my family was taking a summer vacation. I think we were coming back from a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains or maybe it was Mountain Home Arkansas. Whatever it doesn't matter. My father was one to always and I mean always pick up a hitchhiker if he came upon one on the road. We were at least a couple hundred miles from Macomb and the kid we picked up said he was headed to ma' kem (long a, accent on first syllable) to go to school. We thought he meant Macomb and we were heading right through it so we took him all the way and let him off right in front of Bennett/Hirsh Hall. He did not say too much on the trip in. To this day, I still wonder if he might have been heading to Macon, Ga and not Macomb, Il.

I would bring a transistor to the Sunrise Family Restaurant early Monday morns and scan the dials. You might hit on it if you are lucky. You also might run into Oakland hoops coach Greg Kampe. Scott, I can do that... I think last year I sent you one or two of the interviews I did with Coach Nielson before you directed me to SoundCloud & I totally botched it.
"WIU0812", that's a good suggestion. We have a promotions meeting today, and I'll bring up the "TuneIN" streaming provider. In years past, I was told, when I first started here, the cost for streaming a radio station 24/7 was anywhere between $6000-$10,000 per station (we have 6 stations), but I think with the amount of "royalties" musicians are paid, I think that amount is substantially lower.
We've been able to stream our HS football broadcasts thru "Network1 Sports" and that service used to be FREE, but the last two years our sales executives have had to go out & sell that. Thanks to Chubby's (320 W.Adams in Macomb), our HS football streaming is taken care of. Chubby's has got some "good eats" by the way.

Instead of us all wasting our time voting for W1U in some logo contest for which there is little or no known substantive reward, I say we vote for getting Bob Nielson on the airwaves. If he is already on the airwaves, just tell us what time and what channel(s) and we will listen.
