The world would be a far better place if the NCAA would allow immediate eligibility for ALL transfer players with ZERO (or maybe some minimal number of) playing time minutes during their stay at a school, regardless of where they want to transfer to. Why should a kid be punished because he happened to be #3 on the depth chart?ST_Lawson wrote:Appears to be another transfer out...
R-Fr. QB Noah Shanklin (Savannah, GA/IMG Academy)
Not entirely surprising, considering our QB situation.
We have a Senior QB (Norvell) and a Sophomore QB (McGuire) who will likely compete for the starting position this year. Barring any injuries or other unpredictable situations, McGuire will likely start his Junior and Senior years. At that point, Shanklin would have been a Senior, having spent all but 1 year of his eligibility competing with the other R-Fr. QB, Jack Beneventi, for the backup QB spot and likely not getting much playing time. And, who knows who else we might get in the meantime through transfers or recruiting. If McGuire is healthy, Shanklin may only get 1 year of starting, and that's IF he wins the starting job over all the other QBs we may have on the roster at that time. Can't say I blame him. I'll keep an eye out for where he's going, but he'll likely transfer down to DII and get a shot at starting right away somewhere.

I think a player should be aloud to transfer 1 time without having to sit out but that's it i remember U of I got a transfer basketball player from Kentucky and then he played 1 season at UofI then transferred again.sealhall74 wrote:The world would be a far better place if the NCAA would allow immediate eligibility for ALL transfer players with ZERO (or maybe some minimal number of) playing time minutes during their stay at a school, regardless of where they want to transfer to. Also don't see TE Jackson Riley listed DL Tom Smith
Sorry, yea. I saw that Jackson Riley was no longer listed a bit ago (he was removed from the roster about a week ago), but we were kinda in the midst of recruiting talk and stuff and I forgot to mention it. There's no mention of going anywhere else or anything on his twitter account: https://twitter.com/JpRiley34ibleedpurpleandgold wrote:Also don't see TE Jackson Riley listed DL Tom Smith
So, I don't really know what's going on there. He is in the university directory, so it looks like he is currently a student.
As for Tom Smith, he's listed in the recruits from last year (http://goleathernecks.com/news/2015/2/4 ... 52714.aspx), but wasn't listed on the 2015 roster (http://goleathernecks.com/roster.aspx?r ... h=football), so it kinda looks like he was recruited, but wasn't actually on the team last year. But that's just a guess.

I thought Riley had potential based on his measurables...

Could be grades related and we'll see him again if he gets them up and eligible. Could be something else completely.

Any word on how the "QB situation" for next season?
