Don't know if anyone else caught a Real Sports episode a few weeks ago, but there's a high school coach that does not punt......ever. Won a state championship I believe and also onside kicks every time. Higher probability to score when you run extra plays and have the ball more often.

Not saying we do that here and don't think you should never punt, but watching all these blocks has me wondering if we shouldn't have a few more "go for its".

That's definitely a possibility. I have noticed that if they're sitting on the opponents side of the 50, but a FG would still be like 45+ yards, they've often been going for it. A punt likely won't net you more than 10 yards, unless you have an exceptional corner kicker. Most of the time, you're more likely to get a good result if you just go for it at that point.

Will Bavery (Stronghurst/Southern HS) used to onside kick every time as well. Good success with it.

It would be a big change in approach but wondered if rugby style punt might not be an option

Should be a nice afternoon for the game.

It's sunny and 61 at Noon. Suppose to get up to 70. Light winds at 6 mph.

Yup, it's absolutely beautiful out. Heading out to the game in about 45 minutes with my parents.

I really wish this game would have been earlier in the day so I didn't have to choose between playoff baseball and going to Macomb. It's perfect weather for football today.

We have to stop telling the opposition how to exploit our special teams.

Good setup win for heading into Cedar Falls. Confidence level should be high. I look for a few new wrinkles next week. UNI is very solid in the trenches.
