Secondary confirmation on the game at Northwestern. The B1G 2025 schedule has been released and we're on it for both Week 1 (Illinois) and Week 2 (Northwestern).

We've added Valpo as our final non-conference opponent next year, playing the Beacons at Hanson Field on September 13, 2025.
The article also says that we're paying them $120k for their game at our place.

So, our OOC 2025 games now are:
at Illinois, at Northwestern, vs Valparaiso, at Eastern Washington (which I believe is the final game of our previously scheduled MVFC vs Big Sky matchup games).

I assume we'll probably have a bye week on September 27th before starting BS/OVC games. Barring any last-minute changes, our home opponents should be: Charleston Southern, Lindenwood, Eastern Illinois, and SEMO. Away opponents should be: UT Martin, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State, and Gardner-Webb.

Is 2 bye weeks something new for the B1G?

Quirk of the calendar: https://fbschedules.com/why-are-there-t ... ll-season/
Looks like it happens most years that the FCS schedule works out to 12 games (and 1 bye week)...so, this year and next year.

I understand picking up the two FBS bodybag games. Two 500k payouts.

120K for  Valpo is a fucking joke. I have a rudimentary understanding of market value. To that extent if that is what other FCS scholarship  programs pay then we have to roll with the times.  We owed Eastern Washington a return game  so I understand why we couldn't get another FCS home game.

Am I the only one that remembers routine Six game home schedules.

Don't get me started on 2017. How that playoff game was awarded to Weber was a travesty. We played 4 home games and 8 road games.

It is a better schedule than last year IMO.  It just stinks to probably be rolling into conference play with three losses already. So it just makes the playoffs seem out of reach needing to get to 8 wins in a 12 game season.

Those first 4 games are going to make for a real tough start to the season.

Am I the only one that thinks the Northwestern game could be a sneaky one for the wildcats depending on how our recruiting goes this offseason?
