I think the kid made the wise decision for the kid. Cedar Falls is a few miles closer to Freeport and has a legit indoor Track and Field training facility. If I am Farley, I offer him half a schollie to play football (return specialist) and give him half a schollie to run track.ST_Lawson wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2018 10:52 amWe don't have any issue with guys playing two sports. Both the elder McShane and Justin Fitzpatrick play on the baseball team...I'm sure if he wanted to run hurdles in the spring or whatever, it wouldn't be an issue...it'd only help his speed and save us a scholarship. I think it was probably more of an issue with him wanting a promise of playing time and full scholarship for his entire playing career. We're so deep at RB though that I don't think we can make that promise though and be able to follow through on it for sure. Don't promise what you can't deliver.rocki wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2018 10:45 am "we chose not to sign him. This staff isn’t going to play games with kids. "
I'm curious as to what game he wanted to play that we didn't. Was it the 2 sport thing, was it a guarantee of immediate playing time, or something else. In the end, it doesn't matter, but that statement is cryptic enough to pique my interest.
That's just the impression that I got from things though.
