Cool article about my son and other athletes at his school. A great example of the Character of Coach Elliott.
Great story! Shows a lot about the character of your son, too. Precisely the kind of kid Coach Elliot has been looking for. Looking forward to watching him in the future.
Thanks Guys. He's definitely coming in with a BIG chip on his shoulder. We are all excited to be Leathernecks, and so stoked about this class! Great group of players and young men. These kids have been on group chat for several months already, and are very close. When its all said and done, this Class is going to win a lot of games!

There's some guys coming in to visit this weekend.
With only 63 scholies to burn, would an FCS coach ever bring in a pure speed burner to be strictly a return specialist. That is something that we have been lacking in the last few years and we are not alone.
"we chose not to sign him. This staff isn’t going to play games with kids. "
I'm curious as to what game he wanted to play that we didn't. Was it the 2 sport thing, was it a guarantee of immediate playing time, or something else. In the end, it doesn't matter, but that statement is cryptic enough to pique my interest.

We don't have any issue with guys playing two sports. Both the elder McShane and Justin Fitzpatrick play on the baseball team...I'm sure if he wanted to run hurdles in the spring or whatever, it wouldn't be an issue...it'd only help his speed and save us a scholarship. I think it was probably more of an issue with him wanting a promise of playing time and full scholarship for his entire playing career. We're so deep at RB though that I don't think we can make that promise though and be able to follow through on it for sure. Don't promise what you can't deliver.
That's just the impression that I got from things though.

Yah, I knew both McShane and Fitzpatrick play baseball, but didn't know if Coach Elliot's philosophy was different than Fisher's. I agree we've got excellent RBs already in position and he would have been more a "future" player than a "right now" player barring some unforeseen circumstance. I think it was just the "playing games" reference that perked my ears up.
