New HC Rob Jeter
First of all, the players that Wright recruited were more than likely solid players overall. Wright just lacked something as the head coach at this time. Secondly, players that vacated the university were not likely to cause much lost sleep for Jeter as they were not burning up the win column. It is very likely that Jeter will bring a different attitude to the program much like Molinari had the defense first to win look. I expect a quick improvement with the coaching changes. Jeter has had success in the past which is a decent barometer.

You nailed it, something just wasn't clicking for Wright. Tons of close losses early this year and games where they just stalled or the wheels fell off. Talent was there, so it comes down to poor situational coaching or preparation.OldHare wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 1:24 pm First of all, the players that Wright recruited were more than likely solid players overall. You would never think a team that had 3 Division 1 wins would have a kid transfer to Power 5 Nebraska, one to 2020 conference Champ Siena, and another to a usually consistent winner Oakland. Pretty sure Pyle will end up D1 as well, making it 4 guys. We'll have to wait and see how things pan out for them, but wouldn't think there'd be that much interest from a 5 win team (3 D1) and goes to show there was plenty of talent.
Beyond excited for Jeter and like the team he's put together in a short time. Future seems brighter!!!!!

There's a coach Jeter part in here that's kind of a cool read.
This site is listing WIU as having the #2 recruiting class in the Summit League (ORU is #1, which isn't surprising after their big tournament run this last season).
