Embrace the pace of the race.
I see one of the "boxes" in the tweet has "for the betterment of my athletic ability" listed. Could it be that he wasn't going to be as high up on the roster ladder as he wanted to be? Obviously, I have no idea, but that comment made me wonder if he didn't think he was going to get the playing time he wanted.

That was my thought as well. But this is the same issue I saw Coach Mo have in hoops. Never recruit a JUCO unless he is a starter for you. You only got him for two years or maybe 3.rocki wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 12:38 pm I see one of the "boxes" in the tweet has "for the betterment of my athletic ability" listed. The other possibility is that he might have started getting some interest from higher-level teams.rocki wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 12:38 pm I see one of the "boxes" in the tweet has "for the betterment of my athletic ability" listed. Also, he is listed in the directory, so it looks like he was/is a student here this semester.

Do they teach the art of "poaching" in coaching classes these days? lolST_Lawson wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 1:11 pmThe other possibility is that he might have started getting some interest from higher-level teams.rocki wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 12:38 pm I see one of the "boxes" in the tweet has "for the betterment of my athletic ability" listed. This crap is out of control. Take me back to the good ole days of the 60s and 70s when Freshman could not play yet had a decent JV schedule in which they could work on their craft. No or at least very few redshirts ever needed. Transfer you pay the price.
Embrace the pace of the race.
i am starting to get concerned also, seems weird all of the sudden all these departures are happening. I too noticed that sentence and thought it was weird and not sure how to take it. My initial thought is the same that Scott had, I wonder if some higher level programs had started to show interest.
with all the coming and goings and the possibilities still of an extra year, I don't even really know what the QB situation looks like, but I just assumed Pee Wee would be the starter next year, so it should be interesting to see what shakes out at QB.

Dude was just in tweeted pictures visiting the elementary kids, so in Macomb. Here's my educated guess on why he's leaving and his comment about betterment. He's recently seen his top returning target, center, potential starting guard, top OLB, top ILB and another heavily used ILB leave. Add that to it that we already had our top returning All-American Safety in the portal and every WR graduate or leave.
Though a 1 win team last year, we were maybe a few missing piece away from 500 ball. He likely thought he could be the difference maker and now our bad team instantly got worse for next year, so why roll the dice on having a very bad year and hurt your credibility.
I'm worried about even more guys taking this route and seeing recruits have a change of heart and go the JUCO or Academy route.
Not looking good.

I wish I could Zoom with all of you to explain what’s going on. Believe me it’s positive.
