Don't know for sure, but the PA announcer sounded like Danny Frey. He is the radio announcer for Women's Basketball. He also hosts a weekly Sports show on WIUS Radio (88.3 FM).
Glad we only have to see Bob's Cutleresq facial expressions now once a year. With that being said, he had a great game plan and liked his aggressiveness. Far cry from what we got from him at WIU, but probably has more faith in his current squad and for good reason.Necks2003 wrote: Sat Sep 30, 2017 12:10 pm I wonder which stupid tie Nielson will wear today.
I wonder how many times their QB will look to the sideline to change the play before they snap the ball. I am just glad we only have to watch Nielsons offense once a year going forward. Painful and awkward to watch.
It was closed well before the game started so nice try as for the tailgating it self it was one of the calmer ones ive seen we were right behind the vets club the last 2 homecoming's and they were much better this year.LocalYokelFan wrote: Sun Oct 01, 2017 12:49 pm You'll never have an accurate attendance count when people - with or without tickets - can come and go as they please. There's a big chain link fence with a large rolling gate right on by the donors area of Q-Lot. Most of the time, including yesterday up until kick-off, it is not locked or even chained together. 100s, if not more, just come and go through that spot uncounted. Even when they finally locked it, people just go under or in some cases over it.
Tailgating was shut down during the 2nd half of the game because of problems going on in the student section of the tailgate. Not a good look for OPS to have to come by and tell the donors to wind down there tailgates because things got out of hand on the other side of Q-Lot. The students should be embarrassed on how Q-Lot looked after the game. I'm all for kids getting a little crazy during Homecoming, but what I saw driving out after the game was a part of the student body that had no regard for their campus or community.
I thought it was an overall sad day for WIU, particularly considering so many of us were so excited coming into it. Let's all do what we can to raise the bar a little bit.
That's just not true. I tailgate right there and it was not locked until after kickoff. At times it was pushed closed but not locked. So, go figure, people pushed it open and walked through. Anyone have a picture of the eastern half of Q-Lot about 6 or 7 PM last night? If so, please post. If this is acceptable like LNC claims, congratulations, you're part of the problem.leatherneckcountry wrote: Sun Oct 01, 2017 1:24 pmIt was closed well before the game started so nice try as for the tailgating it self it was one of the calmer ones ive seen we were right behind the vets club the last 2 homecoming's and they were much better this year.LocalYokelFan wrote: Sun Oct 01, 2017 12:49 pm You'll never have an accurate attendance count when people - with or without tickets - can come and go as they please.
