I have noticed that tendency as well. When we find something that works, we do not stick with it until the defense takes it away. It is more like we put it on the "back burner" in case we might need it later. Take a look at the USD game in the first half. Nikko went off left tackle for a couple of huge plays very early in that game. After that for the entire rest of half, all running plays are to the right side of line for not near as much success. It has me scratching my head. Against IUSr, we pull out the gadget half-back pass option and it worked like a charm. Might be the only time we see it this year. We talk about balanced run and pass. Need to look at balance within each of those with respect to areas of the field we are exploiting. Middle of field ideal for getting TEs involved and even some screeens to the RBs.Lynx wrote:Norvell really seems to struggle seeing the middle of the field. We had plenty of receivers open in the middle all day. The screen play worked the one time we ran it, and we never tried it again. We just seem so close, but we just can't over the hump this year.
