A wonderful July 1 start to a new year at Western Illinois University. A new Provost who steps in as the Acting President in Dr. Martin Abraham. A new Board of Trustees President in Dr. Polly Radosh. The future of Western Illinois University starts today.
The Western Illinois University Board of Trustees will hold meetings Thursday and Friday, July 11-12 in Riverfront Hall, Rooms 103-104, on the Quad Cities campus in Moline.
The WIU Board's open meeting will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Overflow seating will be available in the Riverfront Hall Atrium and in Riverfront Hall Room 111.
The Board shall convene in a closed session beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday for the purpose of considering matters provided for in 5 ILCS 120/2c. The closed session will be held in Riverfront Hall 218.
At the Thursday meeting, the Board will consider the presidential contract and Academic Program Review recommendation. The Board will also hear reports on enrollment management. The Board shall convene in closed session in Riverfront Hall 218 following the conclusion of the June 11 open meeting for the purpose of considering matters provided for in 5 ILCS 120/2c.

Streamed BOT meetings would be a GOOD new beginning.

Where is that Organizational Structure or are we just going to wing it.ST_Lawson wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 10:18 am Here's the full agenda, for those who are curious: http://www.wiu.edu/board_of_trustees/mi ... erials.pdf

I'd imagine some of that is TBD during the earlier meetings. That's how it was written last time when Dr. Thomas "stepped down".sealhall74 wrote:Where is that Organizational Structure or are we just going to wing it.ST_Lawson wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 10:18 am Here's the full agenda, for those who are curious: http://www.wiu.edu/board_of_trustees/mi ... erials.pdf

So who gets to live in the President's mansion out on Wigwam Hollow? Is it nobody until the next President is named. The acting/interim he or she? When it comes to real estate, sometimes better to have it occupied rather than sitting empty for months/years.

It hasn't been occupied for a while. It's used for receptions, but President Thomas didn't live there, he lived elsewhere in town. I've heard it needs fixing up if it's going to be "livable" probably.sealhall74 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 3:15 pm So who gets to live in the President's mansion out on Wigwam Hollow?
