What is our annual football budget, salaries and everything included.  I see the Bison are spending a little over $6M a year.  Are we even half of that?
If I am a prospective coach, I would worry more about that number than my own salary.

There was a meeting with the football team yesterday where the AD told them that they've completed 2 rounds of interviews and will keep them posted on further developments. Probably snuck in a 'please don't transfer until we figure this out'.

I can't believe that as early as they announced Eliot's firing they haven't sewn this up yet.

I've heard there are a couple of coordinators who's team are still playing in the playoffs and that could be holding us up

Let's let the process play out.  This is a big decision and rushing it would be a mistake.  Obviously they are moving the process along.  Just not to our liking! ;)

Ideally, I think you would want a coach named by signing day (Dec 15).  How many kids on the fence would we lose by waiting longer?
Later than that, new coach is forced to go with more JUCOs and grad transfers, not a terrible thing but less potential bang for the buck in the long run.

Agree, (15 DEC) for recruiting, and also to intro new coach to team before everyone leaves for break.

The better players are most likely being hit up via back channels re: transferring. The players are talking about it amongst themselves and looking to ones with experience in the portal.

I'd be pretty surprised if something isn't in place by the end of the week.

I’m actually surprised that we’ve only had the one transfer so far. But we are losing valuable time working the portal to bring kids to us. We have lots of spots to replace on our 2 deep.
