Is there a team left that can outbid them? Probably not.

In the Women's NCAA tournament, #10 South Dakota will take on #3 Michigan at 5:30 PM on Saturday 3/26. You can view that game on ESPN2.
The winner of that game will face the winner of #1 Louisville and #4 Tennessee on 3/28.

Alabama had 739 attend the Houston game. The pregame show for the Alabama coach was inviting everyone to attend as admission was $5. SDSU vs Drake attendance was 3100 with students(maybe 400) attending free with ID. The reserved seating was $22 & I think general admission was $17. The interest of some locations does not compete with the Brookings area interest in WBB. The WBB team, 3100 people, and the pep band kept the game mood positive for the Jackrabbits.sealhall74 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 9:14 amIs there a team left that can outbid them? Probably not.
USD's Cinderella run came to an end, falling to #3 Michigan, 52-49 today. USD had a 2-point lead at halftime, but finished the 3rd down by 1. It was all tied up at 48 when Michigan hit a 2-pointer with 22 seconds left. USD missed a 3-point shot to take the lead, then it came down to fouls. Michigan got a couple, then USD got 1 of 2, but then the rebound. The final 3-point shot at the buzzer would have tied it up, but the ball sailed wide left and Michigan advances to the Elite Eight for the first time in program history.

Question, in any sport, would you rather be super competitive and vie for national titles on a regular basis at D2, or would you want to be D1 and one in a while have teams that make it to the post season, but don't get far?

No brainer for me. Every time I step out onto the field or court, I want to think I have a chance to win, not only that specific game, but also the absolute very last game of the season. WIU was D2 when I was a student. I would be ALL IN for dropping back down to that level. I think a lot of our recruits are really at that level when it comes to quickness and athleticism.Tere wrote:Thu Jan 01, 1970 4:09 amQuestion, in any sport, would you rather be super competitive and vie for national titles on a regular basis at D2, or would you want to be D1 and one in a while have teams that make it to the post season, but don't get far?
BTW, Massey has NWMS as a 4 point favorite over our current Mens BB team playing in the friendly confines of Western Hall.
We are a 27 point underdog against Duke in Cameron.

One replyer said "These are the sights from the old NCC days". To that, I say "add about 2800 people and you have Western Hall with EIU in the house back in the late 70s during D2 days". We can only hope things get better.

The D1 for women has had some crowds from 2007 forward. The bigger crowds were D2 old days. The next remodel will cap at about 5500. As Seal indicated, the D2 days had more interest.Men's Basketball1.9,456AugustanaFeb. 11, 1989
