Home Opener, Family Day, Senior Day, AG Day, Band Day
Saturday, September 13 at 6 PM
Hanson Field

Valpo is 1-1 this season after defeating NCCAA Virginia Lynchburg (small private HBCU with just under 900 students) 67-10, then losing 10-7 to DIII Adrian College (Adrian, MI).
Massey gives us an 81% chance of a win, with a projected score of 35-21: https://masseyratings.com/game.php?gid=1838120
Personally, I'm thinking the margin will be a bit more than that, but it should be a strong home win regardless.

Back to back B1G games is a perfect recipe for injuries and FCS teams losing their footing.

Western does not have the luxury of dictating to P4 teams when is "good" for them to play. It's a take it or leave it deal.

Wirh the recent controversial Supreme Court ruling against the NCAA the FCS schools have really been unfairly penalized to the tune of nearly 300k a year for 10 years. To my knowledge no FCS leagues had deals with any "networks" to bring in any revenue.

My hope is Coach Davis can motivate the 2025 Leathernecks to be the ones dealing the beat-downs moving forward.

Often times one gaines more from adversity than a smooth ride.

The Chicago Bears do what they do. Give you hope and then dash it.  I will say Coach Ben Johnson's post game press conference made me feel like a winner for rooting for the Bears. That man has class and is humble and accepts the heat.

Debating whether to go or not.  Evening start nice becuase it will be a bit warm tomorrow.  Also Senior Day so a nice turnout would be nice.  But, why do we have Senior Day on the first home game?  Makes no sense to me.  Dont most places do it the last home game?

I guess I hadn't paid close attention. I knew it was Family Weekend, but didn't even think about Senior Day because typically it is done the last home game of the season. Bizarre.

If we don’t win by 30 we have problems, won’t know much about our team until EWU

Some do, but my guess is that they think there will be more people at the first home game on a Saturday night in September than there will be at a game in mid-November when the weather could be pretty cold. Historically, games in September and early October have the highest attendance. They probably don't want to bring out the seniors at a game where there's only like 100 people (mostly family and friends of the players) sitting in the home side stands.
