Pretty good weekend overall for Leatherneck Athletics:
Men's Basketball went 2-0 with the HUGE upset of Wisconsin
Women's Basketball went 2-0 with a win over the team predicted to win the Ohio Valley (SIUE)
Football came back from 17 points down to win in overtime with a R-Fr. QB that hasn't ever started before and has only played in one other game.
Only negative was the volleyball team closing out their season with a 0-3 loss at South Dakota State.
A good weekend...

In the grand scheme of life wins and losses of the teams we pledge allegiance shouldn't really matter.
But I gotta tell you I have been in a better mood the last few days and am feeling a little more pride for my Alma mater.

Some big games lined up for today...
Last regular season (likely last of the season) football game - let's see if we can't finish with a winning record
Men's Basketball at Eastern Illinois - cross-state non-conference "rivals"...long history between the teams...time to see of the Leathernecks are really "for real".
Women's Basketball home vs Chicago State - time to regroup from the OT loss at Iowa...seems like a very good Leatherneck team this year...should be winnable (Chicago State is not good), but you never want to look past any opponent.
Quite a few "statements" could be made today if everything goes well.

Beat the #5 team in the FCS in 2OT.
Men's Basketball beat Eastern by 20 points.
Women's Basketball torched Chicago State by 38 points....can they regroup from the loss at Iowa...yes...yes they can.
3-0 on the day for those sports.
Not great results at the swimming meet out at Indianapolis though. After day 1, men are in 5th out of 9 teams, and women are in 8th out of 10. Here's the day 1 results for those interested: http://www.iupuijags.com/custompages/M- ... /hocf1.pdf
