Re: Transfer Portal

No word on McCowan. According to wbblog, Lily Randgaard is going to Florida Southern (DII). Just for fun ... Wikipedia info: Florida Southern College (Florida Southern, Southern or FSC) is a private university in Lakeland, Fla. In 2019, the student population at FSC consisted of 3,073 students along...

Re: Transfer Portal

If you want details every which way around and all over (transfers, recruiting classes, signees, previous years' signeees, etc.), this website has them for WBB ... https://wbbblog.com/ If you research a specific player, it can also show who has made them offers. Go to "Transfers" on the to...

Re: Transfer Portal

Here is a reliable website to track entrants to the WBB transfer portal.  On the page click the "X" to close the subscribe box (if it shows up), then scroll down to the highlighted list of conferences. Click on "OVC" (or other conference) to select. That will give you a team-by-t...

Re: Transfer portal

A successful program that finished 21-12 overall, 13-5 in conference and 1-1 in the OVC tournament is attractive to some who see an opportunity to "come home" via the portal. Kudos to HC Boudreau & staff for recognizing and making connections. IMO the portal may not "hurt" WI...

Re: President Huang stepping down

Official WIU press release, Oct. 7, 2022 Center for Performing Arts Construction Funding Released, Construction Underway Paragraph 8: "To make up for the increased construction costs, which recently came in at $110 million, the CDB, working with Western, has agreed to leverage some funding from...

Re: President Huang stepping down

This may not be a factor but still bothers me ... to get the Center for Performing Arts project going, WIU had to accept a smaller facility at higher cost covered by using some funding from other requested/proposed projects. I asked then and still ask ... how much was taken from what projects?

Re: vs Southern Indiana

After decades of watching college sports live and on TV, I have come to the tentative conclusion that attendance counts are done by a relative of the little man who turns the light on and off in the refrigerator. Seriously, tho. Might depend on how student attendance is counted, as their athletic fe...

Re: 20 game conference schedule

Info for potential idea/suggestion: The Mid-American and Sun Belt conferences are in the first year of a two-year cooperative deal where each school is guaranteed one home and one away game each for MBB and WBB. All is D1 and o-o-c, obviously. Matchups are based on comparative NET, which changes (ga...

Re: At Tennessee-Martin

OUCH! Watched almost entire game on ESPN+. WIU opened 6-0 and then UT-M switched to a combo 1-3-1 defense with the gaps filled with a full-court press. Crowded the paint to make it hard for WIU to get inside while making WIU tentative per 3-pointers (3 of 23) with double-team in-your-face. If well-p...

Missed it. But that's ok. A repeat can't hurt.
