Re: Updates to faculty layoff plan and other stuff
I have stayed away since January, for a number of reasons. I felt I had been too snarky to some folks, had better things to do than talk on a sports message board among other reasons. This vote to strike by the faculty is the last straw. In this climate of dramatic enrollment drop, the state losing ...

Re: Football Attendance Crisis
I don't know about actual seats being 16,000 +. He might be thinking of the single game records for attendance - which would include portable bleachers and folks sitting on the hills etc.: 1973- Central Michigan- 19,850 2003 SIU- 19,287 1972- Mankato- 18.900 1971- ISU- 18,700 2003- WKU- 18,203 Then ...

Re: Football Attendance Crisis
There's a lot of good ideas expressed on here. Send an email to athletics with these- or, if you aren't comfortable with that, send email with ideas to Leatherneck Club officers.

Re: Football Attendance Crisis
I see your position, Josh, and somewhat agree with it. But.... should we allow alcohol sales in Western Hall for men's games? Women's games? Volleyball? How about soccer and softball games? If not, why not? I'm not against some area for consumption that is monitored, and if need be, arrests made. Lo...

Re: Football Attendance Crisis
If you need to provide alcohol or encourage alcohol consumption to attract folks to your events, you have a problem. Once you do that, you likely add other problems. IMHO. I like a beer once in awhile as most folks, however, I don't like being around folks whose sole purpose for being there is to be...

Just looked at the link. Half time, 38-31 U of I. Talk about low attendance at events, I bet there's not a 100 people there.

Re: WIU at Weber State (11/25/17) - Playoffs Round 1
Someone asked earlier about T-Shirts and Western's play-off involvement. I called the bookstore and was told they hadn't talked about that, but might bring it up in discussions. If they do it, it might take a couple of weeks to get approval etc., as I was told. I guess just periodically check the we...

Re: Football Attendance
Sooooo, faculty and staff at WIU are not able to attend any university sponsored events on their ID card? Amazing, I've worked for three colleges, and all allowed faculty and staff to attend games at no charge- just show school ID. Seems like a reasonable "perk" and would help attendance.
