Re: New Direction
How many years in a row do we have to have a joke of a basketball team? Perhaps we need to explore going to Division II. Right now we are a bad team playing in a conference that nobody in Illinois cares about that is never televised. Living in the Chicago area I can see Northern Illinois, Illinois S...

North Dakota State Loss a joke
Losing by 16 to a sub .500 team.
This team is really getting to be a joke.
Are we looking for a Billy Wright replacement.
It certainly is time.

Re: Hodown in Huskieville
Why would Gilbeck play just 23 minutes. I know he had four fouls, but..... Has this kid progressed at all offensively in four years at Western? Does not seem like it. And he still seems to foul an awful lot.
I thought he would be better as a senior.

Re: WHY NOT US?
You are right about SIUE, but they've only been a D1 mens hoops program for about a decade. And you are right, too, about the mid-major big scorer. But someone like Nunn...I mean, he's just sitting there.
But good points.

Re: 2018 Summit League Tournament
When Gilbeck got pulled with his third foul in the tournament game we were still up by 9 against the No. 1. seed. I cringed when he came out. And sure enough, before 90 seconds had passed it was tied. I know that this is a normal move that is made by coaches all the time....BUT NOT WHEN YOU HAVE THE...

WHY NOT US?
Mark Smith, Illinois Mr. Basketball, who was kinda good at the beginning of the season for University of Illinois, then played tentatively and, frankly, like crap, is leaving after one year. Came from the same school as our guy, Covington at WIU, I think...Edwardsville. Our guy was better. So, I don...

Re: So how good are we?
Is there a Fort Worth team? Maybe we CAN beat them. God, what a horribly disappointing season.

Re: So how good are we?
Fort Worth just beat Indiana tonight. Easily. Handily. So we have them to worry about in the Summit as well.
But for once our team is looking promising.

Best WIU hoops player
Eulis Baez, who I've only seen play on TV once for Western but a few other times in international competition, is the best player I know of or have seen play for the Leathernecks. He only played for WIU one year. 2004-05. He's currently winding down his career playing pro ball in Spain. Lots of Yout...

Re: New Director of Basketball Operations
Is there a current director of basketball operations at WIU or is this a new position. And (sorry for my ignorance) what does a person in this position do?
