Re: Horizon League
Do any of the old timers know why 30 years ago why Cleveland State, Illinois-Chicago, Northern Illinois, Wright State, Milwaukee and Green Bay left the Mid-Continent Conference to the Midwestern Collegiate Conference in the same year? The Midwestern Collegiate Conference was seen as higher presti...

Re: Playing Bradley?
Bradley has played 2-for-1's with EIU and SIUE. ISU has played a 2-for-1 with EIU.
My guess is that it came down to preexisting relationships between staff members. Perhaps EIU/SIUE staff were friends with the coaching staffs at those schools when those agreements were made.

Re: The move to the OVC... LOVE IT
Your odds of being seen by casual fans and sports bars across the country are infinitely higher if you are playing on a national linear tv channel like ESPNU. The only people or bars watching a game on espn+ are those who are specifically seeking out that game on espn+ . The move to the OVC has bee...

Re: The OVC, now and future
I accede to your greater knowledge of the Evansville market, also noting that USI enrollment is roughly 4x that of UE. BTW, watched the virtual reality "tour" of your new PAC arena, and it's a real beauty. One point I made was the whole MVFC/MVC/Summit muddle of issues is a hot mess, and ...

Re: The OVC, now and future
Just IMO but this topic -- what the OVC should/could do, r.e. members -- probably should be its own thread. This is likely to be a big topic with WIU fans/posters going forward. The whole MVFC/MVC/Summit "issue" has heated up somewhat with WIU leaving, as it did with the admission of Murr...

Was ISU a 2-for-1? We get them here if so.

Re: Hnason Field
Thanks for the heads up! I didn't realize the stadium before Hanson Field had a big old grandstand dating back to the 1900s.
Was anyone here a member of the Purple & Gold Peppers?
I like the old school logo in the first half of the video.

Re: Field Turf
Please don't use the block W. No one associates it with WIU. We need WIU, Western Illinois or Rocky's head. Absoltuley agreed. We are Western, WIU, etc, but not "for the W." Athletics is associated with the Rocky head. That is wat we should be celebrating! Same. I’ve always loved the...
