Re: Field Turf
Please don't use the block W. No one associates it with WIU. We need WIU, Western Illinois or Rocky's head. Absoltuley agreed. We are Western, WIU, etc, but not "for the W." Athletics is associated with the Rocky head. That is wat we should be celebrating! Same. I’ve always loved the...

Re: Get to Know the OVC - Tennessee Tech Edition
Tennessee Tech has a very nice basketball arena.
They set the record for biggest loss in NCAA Tournament history in 1963 against the National Champions Loyola. They haven’t been back to March Madness since.

Re: Renewing the rivalry with EIU
The author of that article, Dan Verdun, has written football books on ISU, NIU, EIU, & SIU.
Hopefully he writes one about WIU.

Re: Get to Know the OVC - Tennessee State Edition
Tennessee St has a very historic football program. They had a trophy game generations ago with Kentucky St, but KSU is D-II nowadays. I wonder if our games there will be in the Titans Stadium. They have a large basketball arena. [img]blob:https://www.leathernecknation.net/a00ffda8-e753-49c7-b415-b41...

Re: Get to Know the OVC - Southeast Missouri State Edition
I remember the Indians but didn't realize the women's teams were the Otahkians.
I'm looking forward to the Cape Girardeau roadtrip. There's also an interesting restaurant about 30 minutes away in Sikeston (Lambert's Cafe) where the servers throw rolls to you across the room.

So Lindenwood's stadium was built by the Cardinals. I think that's 3 OVC schools who were a training camp site for NFL teams.

Re: OVC
Found this style guide for the OVC: https://s3.amazonaws.com/sidearm.sites/ovcsports.com/documents/2022/6/20/OVC_Style_Guide.pdf Thought it might be helpful to know things like the preferred shortened versions of their names (and the unacceptable ones). If we don't want people showing up calling ou...

Re: Leaving the conference
That video was awesome. The slides at the end of the Illinois Intercollegiate Athletic Conference from 100 years ago were fascinating. I noticed Carthage in there - from back when they were located in Carthage. There were schools in that map that went extinct 80 years ago. Fascinating stuff! Also, ...

Re: Get to Know the OVC - Eastern Illinois edition
Amazing writeup. It's too bad a generation missed out on EIU/WIU being a conference rivalry, but great to have it back. They're our natural rival. I look forward to future road games in Charleston-Mattoon.
