The budget plan on the table now would provide more money to Higher Education:
Higher education would see a 2 percent increase after years of budget cuts. That translates into a $25 million increase for public universities and community colleges.
In addition, the state would create a $25 million scholarship fund to be matched by public universities and community colleges. The goal of this new tuition assistance program is to keep Illinois students in Illinois attending Illinois schools.
The budget deal does not include shifting millions in state pension costs to universities and colleges.

So it appears to me that there is a 2% increase in funds. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with the CPA/PAC? jc

Given the State's economy, they really should be spending money where needed, not just where it would be nice. Think bridges, not performing arts centers, especially with the huge enrollment decline.

One of her statements, "“With them moving to Sioux Falls, they’re within driving distance of five institutions and we have shifted that way as a conference, so I think we have to look at that as we move forward." I wonder if this means she's looking at the potential of a conference change.wiu712 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 09, 2018 8:40 am Surprenant’s focus on and off campus this summer.

UW-Parkside just left the GLVC. That leaves them with 15 members.Tere North wrote: ↑Sat Jun 09, 2018 11:20 amOne of her statements, "“With them moving to Sioux Falls, they’re within driving distance of five institutions and we have shifted that way as a conference, so I think we have to look at that as we move forward."
