The SIU Board gave the President the power to provide housing/dining refunds. The Board did not give him carte blanche power. The resolution before the WIU Board was effectively abdicating all Board responsibility.Neckfansince71 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 31, 2020 8:36 am ST, you indicated that the request to give Dr. Abraham the legal power to deal with this whole problem caused a bit of a stir? Can you give us a better picture of what people were concerned about. As 712 has noted, SIU took actions and I think EIU did also? Is this interference from Springfield or from another source at WIU?

I think there will be a whole lot of "Go with the Flow" as college presidents struggle to deal with this pandemic. You could be like Jerry Falwell and forge a path forward but pretty risky IMHO. Conducting BOT meetings via teleconferencing and allowing remote member voting are hardly risky though.
Embrace the pace of the race.

So it sounds like they're going to heavily scale back what the president is allowed to make decisions on, probably based on significant feedback.Trustees will consider resolutions pertaining to presidential authority to make decisions regarding refunding or crediting mandatory and special Spring 2020 student fees and the FY21 student health insurance fee recommendation.
