Most MVFC teams are still a week and change out from their first game of the season (our first one is currently 10 days away, on Thursday, September 2 at Ball State), but there are a handful of teams that are getting started this coming Saturday (8/28). Of those, there's two that I'd consider "relevant" to our league and/or our area:
MVFC Games
5 PM - Eastern Illinois at Indiana State (ESPN+)
Other Teams in our Region
12 PM - Nebraska at Illinois (FOX)
Because the schedule is so minimal for "Week 0" here's all the other games going on across both DI subdivisions (all games on Saturday, 8/28):
1:00 PM - UConn at Fresno State (CBSSN)
2:30 PM - Hawai'i at UCLA (ESPN)
6:00 PM - Alcorn State vs North Carolina Central (ESPN) - MEAC/SWAC Challenge
8:30 PM - UTEP at New Mexico State
9:00 PM - Southern Utah at San Jose State (CBSSN)
Outside of that, Knox College has a scrimmage scheduled at 2 PM on the 28th against Eureka College, but otherwise, it looks like all other area teams start the first weekend of September.

Former Leatherneck Austin Hopp is listed as the backup RT for Hawaii, so might catch him in action Saturday on ESPN.

Many ISU (B) guys are going with the "Bermuda Shorts" look (no knee pads required). Good luck with that.
Wish I had a C-Note for every time a defensive player suddenly comes up lame in the Red Zone.
