2024 Baseball
Looks like Western is improved from last year. Eastern Kentucky was 500 in the ASun which is a bit better than the conference we played in last year. The pitching appears to be improved from last year as we struggled to give up under 6 runs in a game vs summit teams last year. Looking forward to the home part of the season starting soon.
We just upset Cincinnati. Won 12-11. There was a unique play to help us get ahead in the top of the 9th. Runner on 1st, no outs, left handed pitcher pitching. Kyree Alexander bunted perfectly to the right side of the mound, the second baseman fields it quickly, but against the fast Alexander he decides to flip his entire glove to 1st. The ball flies out of his glove over the head of the first baseman and the runner advances to third.
Kaden Cratz pitched the 9th. He initially loaded the bases with no outs but then retired the remaining batters in order with a popup, K, flyout.
Tomorrow's game will also be streaming on ESPN+ if anybody is interested.

Saw they beat Cincy, great win for them. Didn't realize that happened in the 9th. Former HC Sherriff is on the staff at Cincinnati.bignecks wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 8:21 pm We just upset Cincinnati.
