The game program still listed him as QBST_Lawson wrote: Tue Sep 16, 2025 11:05 amSorry, yes...was a bit of a joke. There was one play where the QB (probably Irvin at that point) tossed the ball across and slightly back (lateral pass) to McKay, then McKay tossed it 14 yards for a TD. 1 for 1 for 14 yards and a TD equals a ridiculous QB Rating of 547.6. He is still a WR.rocki wrote: Tue Sep 16, 2025 11:02 amHe has been, but I think what is being referred to is the "trick play".NewNeck wrote: Mon Sep 15, 2025 7:14 pm
I had thought McKay had been moved to WR....https://goleathernecks.com/sports/footb ... y-jr/21756

That's been a small detail about our new staff and the offense is the creativity on offense and the willingness to try trick plays (or whatever you call them). I can think of some last year and now this year again that really opened games up. Sign of good aggressive coaching IMO.
Following its home-opening victory, Western Illinois returns to the road for a final non-conference matchup (Prairie State Pigskin): https://prairiestatepigskin.com/2025/09 ... ashington/

Coach keeps talking up 14 on defense and I have not seen him do much of anything this year and not sure what he was doing on that passing play.
Also, not sure about that holding call that pushed us back 1st and 20, when it would have been first from inside the 5. Especially when they've missed at least 2 should be holding calls on pressure we brought.

Like coach Caraway on X, but dude is on the hot seat with this SP play this year.

Getting really close to hating this team.
Baez not going up to make a play on the deep with the DB boxed out, was just terrible. BDs only option would have been to interfere or let him catch it.
Seen a few time where defenders assumed the tackle and let up, but the back kept going for more yards.
SP coverage has to be some of the worst I've ever seen.

Either we are a step and a half slower or that returner is auditioning for the Olympics.
Embrace the pace of the race.

At some point someone has to have some pride and do something defensively this offense isn’t gonna score 40 every week

I was high on Irvin to start the year. Thought he had a strong arm, but is not the case. That was a tough throw on the run, but we'll short with guy wide open 10 yards behind the interceptor.
Lots of balls short this year that good QB's make and we probably score on.
Time to make a change.
