SEMO is NOT leaving the OVC at this time:

And it sounds like nobody else is at this time...

that is good news about SEMO, makes me feel better about the future of the conference. Now hopefully they can add at least one more. Hate to say it but unless there is a school looking to move up, Chicago St might be the best option to be added.

Chicago State BOT has officially approved adding football for 2026. They will play as an independent FCS team next year, then in the NEC starting in 2027.

I wouldn't turn down a H&H series with them. With Tennessee Tech leaving and the FCS schedule going to 12 permanently, we'll need 5 OOC games per year. We currently have 2 on the schedule (at Wisconsin, and home vs Morehead State). Plus we have a decent number of alumni in the Chicago area and always have quite a few players from around there (24 listed on the roster right now).

Looks like NDSU might finally be moving up to the FBS level (Mountain West, football only):

You could have a college graduate level course case study on nothing but NDSU football success over the last 50 or 60 years and all of the intangibles involved in making it happen.

It's now official. NDSU is joining the Mountain West in football only, starting this fall.

The one and the only "RoadWarrior" (AKA Bob Clark) is really going to add some miles to his resume.

Not sure if this should be in this thread or the FBS thread, but since they're currently FCS moving to FBS, and I put NDSU moving up in this thread, here's what's going on with Sacramento State: https://sports.yahoo.com/college-footba ... 07211.html

If you haven't been following the Sac State Saga, originally they said they wanted to move to FBS and join the PAC. Since that didn't work out, they were thinking maybe Mountain West, but apparently the ego of the people in charge over there turned a lot of people off, and they didn't end up getting an FBS invite. Because they had already burned bridges with leaving the Big Sky before anything had been decided, they were stuck playing football as a FCS independent (for 2026) and joining the Big West for olympic sports.

Apparently now they're so desperate to join a FBS conference that they're shelling out a TON of money (something in the range of $15-$20 million) to the MAC to get an invite to play football with them.
So, if this goes through, we'll have NIU in the Mountain West, and Sacramento State in the Mid-American conference. Makes zero sense, but the media deal for the MWC is a lot better than the MAC (so it's an upgrade for NIU) and Sac State will do just about anything to get into FBS, so they didn't seem to care where they ended up.

Essentially, as someone on reddit put it: "We're about to have a plane of Sac State players on their way to UMass passing the plane of NIU players headed to Hawai'i"
