I was really optimistic in the beginning, but what a overall disappointment for players and fans accross the board. Thanks to those who put in their effort....sometimes changes are just need accross the board.

Kind of interesting that the only team on campus with any success  Bubb had nothing to do with the hiring of there coach

Did some research Paul A Bubb was hired on my birthday June 22, 2022 by Pres Guiyou Huang.  Baseball hired Terry Davis July 2023 Asst Wash St, 2024 13-37, 2025 18-32.  Mens Basketball hired Chad Boudreau April 13, 2023 Asst WIU, 24-25 12-19, 25-26 5-24.  Football hired Joe Davis Dec 10, 2023 Asst EIU, 2024 4-8, 2025 4-8. Track and Field 3 coaches in last 3 hrs,  Womens basketball JD Gravina hired 13 yrs ago Head Coach Quincy,  24-25 17-17, 25-26 23-4.  Womens soccer hired Ross Henderson 2025, 2025 1-17-1.  Softball Alisa Goler hired June 23, 2020 Asst Penn St,  2024 16-34, 2025 11-37.  Womens tennis Luke Ogren hired July 11, 2023, 23-24 2-16, 24-25 12-9.  Volleyball Mari Silva hired  Feb 6, 2026 Asst Towson.  Replaced Dale Starr Head Coach Robert Morris hired Feb 6, 2022, 2023 9-21, 2024 17-13, 2025 7-24.  All in all alot of turnover and losing.  Can we get a good Div 2 AD? Go Western!

Some reason you didn't list Boudreau's record of 21-12 in his first season as head coach 23-24?

Don't want to get too negative about our athletic dept but geez, know we can do better.  Gil Peterson was AD when I was a student for 25 years.  He hired Bruce Craddock a really good hire, he was Head Coach at NE Missouri and won there.  Have a good feeling about next year in football, hope we do well.

I'd have to imagine that if we haven't heard anything yet, then there is not likely to be a change of leadership of the men's basketball team during this offseason. Next year, there will be 9 teams playing basketball in the OVC (after Little Rock leaves for the UAC and Tennesee Tech heads to the SoCon), so there will be one team left out of the conference championships. Hopefully, we are not that team, but I wouldn't bet against it.

I'm not a coach, never was one, but I have to wonder how much of Western's struggle has been because of the coach or because of the NIL, transfer portal, and all the junk that wasn't necessary to be dealt with back in the day. As long as "we" have to rebuild teams every year due to no retention, I don't see things changing a whole lot. Off-season practice is not (in my opinion) enough to get a cohesive team working together. If I am wrong, feel free to point out what other changes would help - I really would like to learn.
