The 2015 college football season kicked off this afternoon with NDSU at Montana. The Bison had the lead for most of the game, but the Grizzlies came back and won on a last second (3 seconds, actually) TD run to put them ahead. Then on Saturday, we have a slate of mostly FCS vs FBS matchups: Illinois State at Iowa, South Dakota State at Kansas, Youngstown State at Pittsburgh, Butler at Indiana State, Southern Illinois at Indiana, Missouri State at Memphis, South Dakota at Kansas State, and Northern Iowa at Iowa State.

Southern Illinois came up one point short of a major upset on Saturday afternoon, falling at Indiana, 48-47. The game wasn’t decided until the final 20 seconds, when SIU’s two-point conversion to win the game was unsuccessful.
Southern’s offense set program records vs. FBS opponents with 47 points and 659 total yards. SIU’s total offense yardage was the third most in program history and most against a Division I opponent since 1970.
