And Western wins 80-69. Denver started off well early, getting ahead right off the bat going up 10-2 at one point. Western battled back and took the lead near the end of the 1st quarter. Western built a bit of a lead in the 2nd quarter, but Denver came back and tied it up, only to have Western go back up again and be up 39-34 at the half. 3rd quarter and into the 4th was much of the same, Western built a bit of a lead and Denver battled back to take a 1 point lead with just under 4 minutes left in the game. A few more unanswered scores by Western and a decent number of Denver fouls (resulting in free throws for Western) helped blow open the lead with what amounted to an 18-6 run in the final few minutes.

Riechelt ended with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Maher had 18 points and 4 rebounds, Clemens with 15 and 7, and Higgonbotham with 8 points and 2 rebounds.

Denver's Paige Bradley racked up 26 points off the bench to lead the Pioneers in scoring.

Western wins 80-69.

Sophie Reichelt led the Western scoring with 20 points. Michelle Maher had 18. Emily Clemens had 15. Taylor Higginbotham had 12.

Attendance at Denver was 320. Since this game was a Western Alumni Association event, there should have been a sizeable group of Western fans in attendance.

According to Coach Minter, the WIU fans outnumbered the Denver fans. Apparently Red Miller was also in attendance (and will be again tonight) for the events and basketball games.
