Also sounds like Oklahoma St DC could be heading to UTSA who was henderson position coach when played @ Georgia tech.

I am pleased to see that we are hiring coaches on the staff with FBS playing and coaching experience.

This is a must read...that's why Coach Fisher hired him. Yesterday afternoon I was in the office waiting to meet with Coach Elliott and he was on the phone speaking with someone while writing names on the board. When he got off he apologized for taking so long but he was actually on the phone with Coach Henderson who had recommended 16 players from the state of Oklahoma that they needed to look at during this mornings 8:00 recruiting meeting.

BTW...it looks like they will be able to save most of this class...Coach Fisher said if Bob offered them we are going to keep our word. A couple are wavering but that's normal.

Excellent! The opportunity to tap into the rich Oklahoma and Texas high school talent pool is a significant development. Relationships matter...

You also need to listen to the phone interview with Kyle Fredrickson...that says a lot about Coach Henderson, his character and personality.

Great to hear. I don't know if Coach Fisher talked about it when he did his public interview, but I know that Coach Ash addressed this somewhat, and it's something I agree with. If you're going to be competitive, you have to recruit your area well, but then also have a foothold in one of recruiting hotbed areas. Fisher and Rocco bring an "in" to the east coast Virginia area...Virginia Beach, Hampton, Norfolk (part of the DC/Maryland/Virginia "DMV" area), but now Henderson, who looks like he brings a lot to the table in terms of recruiting in Louisiana, which is another huge recruiting area: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1715 ... all/page/5

I'm really excited to see what kind of athletes he's able to bring "up north" over the next few years.

Here's his twitter account (@Coach_Henny):
(might want to hold off on tweeting at him until there's some at least semi-official announcement...he hasn't mentioned anything on his twitter about it yet)

Also, Henderson played for the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League from '09 to '11, which means that he played on the same team as former Leathernecks Russ Michna (for 2 years) and Ed Hartwell (1 year).

Doing some reading up over on a OK State message board and apparently last winter, Henderson was offered a position at SMU but turned it down. Before that was announced though, here were a couple of comments:
"Wow sucks to lose Henderson"
"Wait, did we just lose the recruiting prowess of Hendo?"
"Losing Henderson is going to hurt our recruiting close [sic]" (I assume he meant "class")

So, at least as of last winter, fans of a Big 12 team weren't real happy about the prospect of him leaving....all good things to my ears.
