We definitely have some streaky shooters on this team. It is now customary for college head coaches to stay in the locker room until lineups are announced. I am still trying to figure out why they do that - last minute preparations?, praying to the almighty?, ... Maybe Billy should come out and see who happens to be looking sharp in warmups and go with them. If I recall correctly from my visit to Brookings last year, Nagy actually did sit on the bench and watch his kids during warmups.

Most teams these days have such a large entourage of coaches and assistants it is very easy miss the HC not being out there. Maybe JD has changed his approach this year but I thought he was like Mo and always waited. I think I might send Dickie V a tweet to see what his take on it is.wiu51 wrote:At the last girls game I went to JD sat on the bench and watched warm-ups. Done. If Dickie V replies, it will make my day.

your a great poster --but--this one made no sense,THE ROAD TEAMS COACHES ARE BEING GOOD GUYS WHEN ON THE ROAD?sealhall74 wrote:Why are we so bad on the road? Good question. I think it has to do with coaching. On the road, if you have a weakness, the opposing coach is going to exploit it to no end. At home, he is more of a "good guy" and does not want to make you look bad in front of your home folks.
so thats why,wiu doesnt want to make the home teams coach look bad when they are on the road.NICE GUYS THESE LEATHERKNECKS.--LOL

Sorry cubsflag. My wording was as bad we played last night. I meant to say that a coach playing at his own home is not afraid to drive a stake straight through the heart of an opponent. That same coach playing on the road will tend to be more of a good guy and not wish to make the opposing coach look too bad in front of the home coach's fans.cubsflag wrote:your a great poster --but--this one made no sense,THE ROAD TEAMS COACHES ARE BEING GOOD GUYS WHEN ON THE ROAD?sealhall74 wrote:Why are we so bad on the road? BTW, this was another one of those games that a Mo team would have gotten beat but the margin would have been more like 13-15 points. In that case, would we all be complaining how bad we looked? Gotta take the good with the bad in life. Growing pains for our guys right now.

We'll win some games this year because other teams also lack a legit threat inside, but won't beat a team like this. Not only are they a more aggressive and a quicker team, but they have 2 players that can get the ball down low and score or draw help. Seal nailed it earlier, they have multiple players that can dribble drive, they pass with a purpose and they're movement without the ball was excellent last night. Inlet score, inlet-outlet-swing pass and nail a three. They had one series where they same two went intel-outlet 4 times, then found someone else for an easy bucket. We might get 4 inlet passes to the post in a game.
Just have to move on, get home and lockup a winnable game on Saturday. It'll be tough to watch Obi knocking down those jumpers. Hopefully he has some jitters coming back to WIU and doesn't have that scoring comfort here like he once had!!!!!

According to post-game presser, Remy has been cleared by doctors to play. Billy will be easing him back into the mix. Also seeing on ORU board that Obi may be less than 100% right now. His point production has dropped down lately. They stole a win from IUPUI last night in Tulsa.
