I see we are getting a Steinway Model D Grand Piano for the COFAC recital hall. That has to cost a pretty penny or two. Used ones going for about $40K and new ones around $150K. Do you think it would be too tacky to have a McAlister's catered "Brown Bag" luncheon going on in the hall while someone is up on stage playing around with the keys on that piano. If I was within 30 miles, I would show up for it.

Supposedly showing up on campus today. It will probably take a week to unpack the thing if it was shipped from abroad.

Yup. The school of music is working towards becoming classified as an "All-Steinway School", which brings a certain level of "prestige" and notoriety to the department. We would be the 6th school in Illinois, the largest school in IL, and the only public university in IL to receive the classification. Achieving this could be a huge boost to recruitment for the school of music for many years down the road.sealhall74 wrote: Thu Mar 22, 2018 10:15 am I see we are getting a Steinway Model D Grand Piano for the COFAC recital hall. They opened up a franchise just off the George Mason campus last summer. Have not had a chance to check it out yet, but next trip to campus (either Macomb or Fairfax, VA), I will be there.wiu712 wrote: Fri May 18, 2018 6:07 pm McAlister's Deli Franchisee Calls Macomb "Most Successful Opening".

Sounds like county market is closing and several others will be going in there including Haymakers not sure what that is and a gas station among others.
