The Cougars are coming in on a 4-game winning streak and fighting to stay in contention for that 7 or 8 seed position in conference tournament.
I would anticipate another barn burner tonight.

Western wins 79-61

Mia Nacastro led the Western scoring with 36 points.

Attendance at SIU-Edwardsville = 1,496

Next game will be the Senior Day game at Western Hall on Saturday vs Lindenwood.  Game time is 1:00 PM.

That game will also be for the conference championship.  Western is currently 16-3 while Lindenwood is 15-4.

Western won the earlier game at Lindenwood (Dec 18) 74-65

I believe that is correct. Hopefully we'll win Saturday and have good momentum going into the conference tournament. If we don't win, then the tiebreakers are the following:
  1. WIU and Lindenwood will both be 16-4 in the conference = tie
  2. The series between the two teams will be split = tie
  3. Record against highest seeded opponents, working down the list...
    1. #3 Southern Indiana beat both teams both times = tie
    2. #4 Morehead State beat Lindenwood twice, but split with us = WIU wins the tiebreaker
Also, Morehead State has finished their regular season (13-7). The next team in the rankings is Little Rock, who is 11-8, but has one more game on Saturday. The best they can finish is 12-8, still behind Morehead State.
Actually, it looks like we both had the same record against all the rest of the teams in the conference down to current #10 Tennessee State (where we inexplicably lost a game). Obviously it would have been better to win the second TSU game, but if we were going to lose a game, it was better to lose it against TSU than to have another loss to Morehead State or drop one to Little Rock because of how they conduct tiebreakers.

Just a dumb question from the guy who usually asks them.  If we win, do we have a "cut the nets down" celebration on Saturday before the men's game or is that something only done with a tournament win?  We need to have this happen more often so we all know what to expect.   :D

Only at the tournament. The men are going to need them (well...Lindenwood's men's team will need them) and you can't just be throwing around money like that. You think we have "replacing nets" money?
