Coach J.D. Gravina said that several team members are on spring break trips in Florida, California, and Mexico. So we will have to see who is able to make it back to Macomb for the game.

It's too bad that the students are out of town this week for spring break. A post-season tournament game playing an in-state rival would have brought out a big crowd.

I bet they all make it back. I know Sophie is in southern CA playing golf with her sister.

Interestingly, Green Bay plays Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA. While Ashley may have been able to help us get a trip the the Big Dance had she stayed, Green Bay is a traditional front runner in their auto-bid conference, so gotta wonder how that played in her decision to transfer. See will be able to say she made it to the Big Dance, but only from the bench unless she has fully recovered from ACL surgery a few months ago.

Mentioned earlier the cutoff on flying vs driving to games. The cutoff is actually 7-8 hours. Oakland was always a bus trip, as was the Summit League tournament in Sioux Falls. Basketball bused to Evansville, also. A trip to Northern Kentucky would almost certainly be a bus trip.

Listening to game from hotel in New Orleans. Wearing the WIU ballcap on Natchez steamboat tour, ran in to old 1974 WIU grad and also a current WIU geology student getting ready to graduate in May and her family. :D
Embrace the pace of the race.

Looks like a close game. SIU up 36-35 at halftime. Higginbotham has 11 pts and 4 rebounds. One of SIU's starters has 19 pts already.

Western wins 99-97 in OT on a last second layup by Mallory Boyle!
A bit of confusion at the end...was a foul on SIU, caused Boyle to have to take a shot for a +1. Didn't make that, but the 2 points still counted.

99-97 is the final.

Earlier this evening, #8 seed USC Upstate defeated #1 seed Northern Kentucky.
If higher seeds host then USC Upstate should be coming to play here on Saturday or Sunday.
