I was looking at the "FAQ's" section of the WBI main website: http://www.womensbasketballinvitational.com/faqs/FAQs
One question is: Can teams bid for home games?
Answer: No, teams cannot buy home games. The higher seeded team always gets the first chance to host.
Western was a #4 seed while South Carolina Upstate was a #8 seed. Looks like we did not want to host that second round game.

Right...host teams pay $ (but keep ticket and concession sales $), traveling teams get paid $. I don't know what the plan would have been if we'd beaten Upstate. Weber State (#7 seed) won their game. They are hosting, but Upstate was a #8 seed, so Weber State would have had first "dibs" on hosting. If we had won, we would have had first chance at hosting. Might have been worth it since the game would be Wednesday this week and we might have had a pretty large crowd for it.

I would rather spend the $10k for some long weekend at a sports training facility in Chitown or St. Louis. More bang for the buck IMO.
