Soon as we get the Flag project taken care of, I propose we invest in half a dozen Dyson Air Multipliers for the press box. They put out a great stream of cool air and are unbelievably quiet, making them probably suitable for that press box environment. I have two of them in my house and absolutely love them - mine even crank out heat during the winter.

Estimated cost is around $2K.

Preview of tonight's game as seen on WGEM Sports with Sports Director Ben Marth (a Valpo alumnus):

What do you think the attendance will be tonight?

As a point of reference, the opening game with Hampton last year was also a Thursday night game before Labor Day weekend. Attendance for that game was 6,437 on a 90 degree, humid evening.

If we can avoid the rain tonight, the attendance should beat last year's mark.

I do not think we are going to get that lucky the storm looks like it will be hitting right at kickoff, but I sure hope it holds off until at least half time.

It does look like it'll hit right around 6, but is supposed to be mostly past us by 7, so it shouldn't delay things for long hopefully.
I'll be there either way (but I'll be sure to take my poncho).

Well, a pretty good game overall. Offense looked pretty impressive at times. There were obviously some dumb mistakes that are entirely fixable (10 penalties for 103 yards), so I'm sure they'll work on that quite a bit this next week. They'll need to play a pretty clean game if they want any chance of doing well next weekend.

Looks like I was pretty close with my prediction. I had us winning 52-7, actual score of 45-6.
One thing I noticed was that in the 4th quarter, there were at least 3 players on defense on the field that weren't even listed on the 2-deep depth chart, so they were really putting in just about everyone to get them some experience. I noticed they put in Otto (freshman kicker) for some of the kickoffs, so apparently they aren't redshirting him, but I can see the reasoning behind it. If something happens to Knuffman and he has to be out for a game or something, you don't want your kicker to have no college game experience whatsoever. They also put in backup QB, Devin O'Hara (a redshirt freshman) during the final drive of the game.

Norvell did a great job overall, I think, hitting 71.4% of his passes for 320 yards and 4 TDs. He obviously won't be doing that against teams like Wisconsin and Northwestern (I'd love to see him do it, but I highly doubt that's going to happen), but it's still a nice start to the season.

The attendance was 3,584.

There was a 40 minute delay to the game because of lightning.

Rain started at 5PM. But had stopped by the time that the game started at 6:40PM.

I think we got everything we needed to out of that game then hopefully that includes a little bit of excitement since we had too many penalties.how did the new video board look?

And did we have any die-hard Freshmen that weathered the storm and ran on the field with team?
