So here's some results for you (and I'm also testing out some video embedding)...most of you have probably seen some of them already, but in case you haven't....
Indiana State loses to Minnesota, 58-28
[espnvid]17515225[/espnvid]
Youngstown State loses to West Virginia, 38-21 (I think that's fairly respectable)
South Dakota beats Weber State, 52-49 in 2 OT (despite being down by 21 early in the 4th quarter)
Illinois State shocks Northwestern, winning 9-7 on a last-second FG that bounced off one of the goal posts and went through.
[espnvid]17515225[/espnvid]
North Dakota State again needs extra time to knock off a ranked opponent at the Fargodome, winning over Eastern Washington, 50-44
[espnvid]17515550[/espnvid]
Montana took down Northern Iowa at the dome, 20-14
Missouri State is actually 2-0 after defeating Murray State, 28-22
South Dakota State defeated Drake, 56-28 (14 in the 4th Q for Drake doesn't surprise me, SDSU probably had their 3rd string in by then, but putting up 14 in the 2nd Q does surprise me a bit)
Southern Illinois beats Southeast Missouri State, 30-22
Outside of the MVFC, but still of interest to us probably:
Eastern Illinois takes down MAC team Miami (OH), 21-17
[espnvid]17516720[/espnvid]
South Florida whollops Northern Illinois, 48-17
And other interesting scores around Div I college football:
FCS Nicholls State very nearly takes down FBS #9 Georgia, losing by 2, 26-24
[espnvid]17513687[/espnvid]
FCS North Dakota comes very close to beating Bowling Green (FBS, MAC), losing 27-26
[espnvid]17515350[/espnvid]
MAC Central Michigan shocks #22 Oklahoma State on a crazy final play...hail mary catch->lateral->TD run
[espnvid]17513513[/espnvid]
But really....
ISUr beats Northwestern, UNI loses at home, NDSU has their second home OT game this season which is also their second home OT game in the history of the Fargodome, and Missouri State beats a DI team?

And let me add a couple more crazy things going on this weekend...
North Carolina A&T took 4 OTs to beat Kent State (MAC, FBS), 39-36
NC A&T is in the MEAC...not generally known for being a FCS "power" conference.
And as of right now, Grambling State (who plays in the SWAC) leads Arizona (Pac 12, FBS) 21-3 at halftime.
Seriously...

That lateral play is cool. I did not play much football aside from Junior High and freshman in HS but that has always been a big head scratcher for me as to why we don't see a lot more lateral plays in the regular course of the game. It just adds a completely different dimension to the game and I would think one which is very difficult to prepare for because there is no way a human being can move faster than a ball in the air and ball can go either left or right. So imagine if you will a really good WR drawing nothing but double coverage all day long. Why not hit him with a quick short pass and have an option for him to lateral to a trail receiver?
Embrace the pace of the race.
