Same here, hope you guys run the table...after Saturday, of course.

I think you guys have a really good team this year. Southern looks tough as well. I'd definitely put SIU and WIU as #1 & #2 this year among the FCS IL teams.

For some reason my gut is telling me this is one of those FBS games where it's "oh man, we have a good chance!" Then go and lay an egg.

My gut was wrong against NAU, let's hope for the same result!

Wow, I didn't know that.

I always knew his story to be that of coming from Chadron State, the real out of nowhere to the NFL fairy-tale.

And thanks for the welcome.

Both Justin Corbett and Cal Breedlove were once at NIU. Breedlove officially with 2 tackles and a sack as a Huskie. Corbett redshirted as a WR.

Was trying to find something I once saw listing the top IL WR for 2013, but couldn't. So will reference rivals for IL WR's. There were 14 listed and 9 signed. Some pretty good names on this list included 5 Star Treadwell now with Viking. 2 Star Corey Davis at Western Michigan and likely 1 rounder. 3 signed to NIU which include 2 Star Chad Beede (no appearances yet this year) and 2 Star Justin Corbett now playing LB for us.

Also some guys you might not have heard of in Lance Lenoir and Joey Borsillino.
It's Beebe (he's Super Bowl Champion Don Beebe's son) and, unfortunately, Chad suffered a leg injury prior to the season that will keep him out all year. He may be eligible for a medical hardship 6th-year, so hopefully Huskie fans can cheer him on in 2017.

As far as this year, the WRs will be Kenny Golladay (6'4") and Christian Blake (6'1") on the outside and Aregeros "Ducee" Turner (5'11") on the inside.
Ha...can't believe I put Beede and just realized you corrected that. Was pulling for him to come to WIU and remember his first catch at NIU as a freshman. Pretty sure went big for 6 and thought he'd have a huge career. Sucks about the injuries. Hope he gets another year.

Welcome to the board, NIU.

I don't know what to expect out of the 'Necks going up against an FBS team - I just know they are scrappy and hungry for a record that gives them a playoff spot after the season. Time will tell.

Here's to a competitive, injury-free game. :)

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not sure if Chad ever redshirted. So it would only be his fifth year, he should be back in 2017.

Ducee who is starting at the slot is no slouch though. Not sure if any of you saw this from 2015:

Thanks for the welcome.

NIU knows better than to take a team lightly just because that team has the "FCS" label. EIU came into DeKalb (with Jimmy Garoppolo) a few years ago and played a hell of a game.

Given what's happened in the first three games, I think NIU will be hungry for the win and hopefully fixes a lot of the issues that seem to be plaguing the team.

I think an under-reported story is the new DC and new OC this year. Both rejoin the Huskies, having been in DeKalb during the Orange Bowl year, after leaving for Big 12 (Kansas)/ACC (NC State) jobs but obviously are still settling into their new roles.
